چکیده

We calculate the initial non-equilibrium conditions from perturbative QCD (pQCD) within Glauber multiple scattering theory for √ s = 200 AGeV and √ s = 5.5 ATeV. At the soon available collider energies one will particularly test the small x region of the parton distributions entering the cross sections. Therefore shadowing effects, previously more or less unimportant, will lead to new effects on variables such as particle multiplicities dN/dy, transverse energy production dĒT /dy, and the initial temperature Ti. In this paper we will have a closer look on the effects of shadowing by employing different parametrizations for the shadowing effect for valence quarks, sea quarks and gluons. Since the cross sections at midrapidity are dominated by processes involving gluons the amount of their depletion is particularly important. We will therefore have a closer look on the results for dN/dy, dĒT /dy, and Ti by using two different gluon shadowing ratios, differing strongly in size. As a matter of fact, the calculated quantities differ significantly. This work was supported by BMBF, DFG, and GSI

Transverse Spectra of Hadrons in Central AA Collisions at RHIC and LHC from pQCD+Saturation+Hydrodynamics and from pQCD+Energy Losses

We study the transverse spectra of hadrons in nearly central AA collisions at RHIC and LHC in a broad transverse momentum range [1]. Low-pT spectra are calculated by using boost-invariant hydrodynamics with initial energy and net-baryon densities from the EKRT [2] pQCD+saturation model. High-pT spectra are obtained from pQCD jet calculation [3] including the energy loss of the parton [4] in the...

high-pT hadron spectra in nearly central Pb+Pb collisions at the LHC

We study the hadron spectra in nearly central A+A collisions at RHIC and LHC in a broad transverse momentum range. We cover the low-pT spectra using longitudinally boost-invariant hydrodynamics with initial energy and net-baryon number densities from the perturbative QCD (pQCD)+saturation model. Build-up of the transverse flow and sensitivity of the spectra to a single decoupling temperature Td...

0 Results from pQCD for A + A collisions at RHIC & LHC energies

This talk will discuss how to compute initial quantites in heavy ion collisions at RHIC (200 AGeV) and at LHC (5500 AGeV) using perturbative QCD (pQCD) by including the next-to-leading order (NLO) corrections and a dynamical determination of the dominant physical scale. The initial numbers are converted into final ones by assuming kinetic thermalization and adiabatic expansion. The whole heavy ...

Production and Equilibration of Quark-Gluon Plasma at RHIC and LHC with Minijets

Production and equilibration of quark-gluon plasma are studied within the color flux-tube model, at the RHIC and LHC energies. Non-Abelian relativistic transport equations for quarks, antiquarks and gluons, are solved in the extended phase space which includes coordinates, momenta and color. Before the chromoelectric field is formed, hard and semihard partons are produced via minijets which pro...
